Day to day itinerary

Meet our airport representative at the arrival terminal of Kathmandu airport. As soon as you get out of the arrival terminal, you will see a person with your nameplate and our company’s name waiting for you. After a brief welcome greeting, the representative will transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and rest for a while. Your guide will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the plans and programs ahead. if you have any queries, you can ask it to your guide. Finally, the guide will leave you at the hotel after a short introductory session on the plans for the coming days of the trip. There are no scheduled plans/programs for the day. You can enjoy your time at the hotel on your own. In the evening, we have a surprise dinner for you at the authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, you will be transferred to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport to catch a flight to Lukla airport. In around thirty-five minutes, you will find yourself in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The flight to Khumbu region is an exciting experience full of mountain views. After landing in Khumbu, we meet our crew members in the region and start walking along the streets of Lukla town to Dudhkoshi river. We cross a long suspension bridge over the river and climb up gradually towards Phakding. As we climb up, we pass the trail full of colorful prayer flags, mani stones, chortens and herds of dzopkos hauled with loads for transporting goods to the higher regions. Overnight in Phakding.

Today, we move higher towards Namche Bazaar. It’s an easy way that undulates up and down via the forests of pine and rhododendron. We cross various suspension bridges over the river to enter into the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO listed heritage site in Nepal. Enriched with floras and faunas, the park is a home to biodiversity. Further, we traverse through various local villages like Monjo and Jorsale to Namche Bazaar. Namche bazaar is a lively town in the region. It comprises of hotels, lodges, villages, shops, cyber café and many more. There might rarely be anything that you may not be able to get here in Namche. On reaching Namche, let your body rest on a comfortable bed in some cozy and clean rooms. Overnight in Namche. 

Namche Bazaar is a vibrant and buzzling town in the region. Therefore, we spend an extra day here. It’s also very important for the acclimatization purpose. We hike to Everest View Hotel which is a popular hotel in Namche. It is known for its spectacular location that offers some magnificent and close up views of mountains in the Everest region. The hotel is also considered as one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region. At the hotel, we enjoy some stunning views of mountains with a sip of tea/coffee and return back to Namche via some interesting Sherpa villages like Kunde and Khumjung. They are the oldest Sherpa settlements in the region. On reaching Namche, we explore around the cafeteria, bakery shops and souvenir shops. It’s truly an incredible experience to spend our time in Namche. Overnight in Namche

From Namche, we start ascending up through a scenic trail that offers some magnificent views of mountain ranges. We walk pass the dense forests of rhododendron, pine and juniper with gorgeous views of mountains looming right before us. As we move closer, the view of Mt. Ama Dablam gets more close and distinct. On reaching Tengboche, we visit the popular Tengboche monastery. It is the largest monastery in the region that attracts attention of every fellow trekkers traveling through the route. After visiting the monastery, we explore the surrounding area that offers some stunning views of mountains in the region. Overnight in Tengboche.

Today, we head towards Pangboche. We follow the trail that leads us to Imja Khola. We cross a bridge over the river and walk gradually until we reach the village of Pangboche. Pangboche is the largest and the highest permanent settlement in the Khumbu region. The village is inhabited by the Sherpa people who have their own unique culture, custom and lifestyle. We move ahead from the village and continue walking until we open up to the pastures of Dingboche. The trail to Dingboche is blessed with some stunning views of Island peak and Mt. Amadablam. Overnight in Dingboche. 

We are already at high elevation and are moving ahead to higher regions. At this point, acclimatization becomes the must. Therefore, we stop at Dingboche and hike up to Nagerjun hill which is quite close to the village of Dingboche. Nagerjun Hill at an elevation of 5100 meters is a beautiful viewpoint in Khumbu region that offers 360 degree views of mountains in the Everest region such as Mt. Makalu, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kantega, etc. In the afternoon, we return back to Dingboche and explore the village. Overnight in Dingboche.

Moving ahead with the journey, we start walking towards Lobuche. As we move ahead, we can feel the thinness in air which can make our trek a bit difficult. Slowly and steadily, we take our steps to Thukla. We stop at Thukla pass and pay respect to those souls who have lost their life during their climb up to Everest. There is a memorial stupas built in Thukla that honors all the mountaineers who have lost their life in mountains. further, we continue walking until we reach Lobuche. Lobuche is not a village but a collection of lodges and guesthouses that offers food and accommodation services to travelers walking towards Everest. Overnight in Lobuche.

At Lobuche, we join the main trail to reach the Everest Base Camp. Today is our biggest day of our entire trek because it’s the day when we march towards Everest Base Camp, the highest place on the earth. Leaving Lobuche, we head towards Gorekshep and then to Everest Base Camp. On reaching the base camp, you will get a feeling of accomplishment. It’s like a dream come true. Standing right before the gigantic mountain is incredible. Though the base camp, Mt. Everest, the highest peak on the earth will not be visible from here. The mountain hides behind Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Lobuche. After some quality time at base camp, we return back to Gorekshep via Khumbu glacier. Overnight in Gorekshep. 

We enjoy some wonderful day in Everest back to back. Today, we hike up to Kalapatthar which is one of the best vantage points on earth to admire the golden rays of sun fall over the snow clad peak of Mt. Everest. We hike up early to catch the views of sunrise amidst the mountains. Kalapatthar also offers the 360 degree views of mountains in Everest region. The place is one of the best spots for photographers. It is a retreat for your eyes. One can forget all the pains of walking and trekking at once due to the spell binding views of mountains from here. Collecting the wonderful views of mountains from here, we drop down to Lobuche via Gorekshep and head towards Dzongla. Overnight in Dzongla.

Today, we wake up early and walk towards Chola Pass at an elevation of 5420 meters. It can be a tough day where you will have to walk through some challenging sections of the trail. The trail is steep that goes through high elevation region therefore climbing up the pass can be a bit difficult. However, the top of the pass offers some interesting views of mountains such as Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Baruntse, Mt. Lobuche, etc. These spell binding beauty of the mountains are the inspiration to climb up the pass. on reaching the pass, we cross the pass and descent down steep along a risky trail with loose rocks. Hence we have to be careful while walking down. We descent down until we reach a small settlement area called Thaknak. Thaknak is mostly inhabited by people from Sherpa community. Overnight in Thaknak. 

Thanknak is the last human settlement in the Nepal side before Himalayas. Lying on the eastern side of Gokyo valley, the valley offers some stunning views of Cho-Oyu Himal. Enjoying breakfast with the close views of Mt. Cho-Oyu, we get set for our journey towards Gokyo. We follow a trail that passes through Nzogumpa and heads towards the Gokyo lakes in the Gokyo valley. We stop at the Gokyo village that lies in the edge of Dudh Pokhari, one of the beautiful Gokyo lakes. Overnight in Gokyo

We wake up early and hike up to Gokyo Ri. It’s a small hill that lies just above Gokyo lakes and offers some spectacular views of mountains, glaciers and Gokyo Lakes. The Gokyo Ri is also considered as one of the best vantage points in Everest region of Nepal. The breathtaking views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Co-Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Nzogumpa glacier along with the sparling emerald colored fresh water lakes in Gokyo valley, nothing could have been more blissful. After admiring the heavenly beauty of nature and capturing some wonderful pictures in your camera, we descend down Pangkha and ascend up towards Macchermo. Overnight in Macchermo.

It’s an easy day walk today. Though easy, it can be a long day walk. We follow a lush trail full of alpine forests. We traverse through the forests of pine and rhododendron to make our way towards Namche Bazaar. The mountain views, prayer flags, chortens and the authentic aura of the Sherpa land, the trail to Namche is very rewarding. Overnight in Namche.

Today, we head towards Lukla – the same place from where we had started our trekking journey. On the way, we meet few trekkers who are in the initial phase of their journey, excited for their walk towards the mountains. It reminds us about our enthusiasm on the first day of the trekking journey. Enjoying the beautiful surrounding and reminiscing the beauty of mountains, we make our way down to Lukla. In the evening, we can celebrate our success of accomplishing the trek. Overnight in Lukla

Today, we take an early flight to Kathmandu. We recollect all the memories that we had made in the Khumbu region of Nepal and leave the region to get back to Kathmandu. In around thirty-five minutes, you will find yourself at the Kathmandu airport. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. There are no further plans for the day. You can utilize the time for shopping purpose. Explore the Thamel area and collect some souvenirs for your loved ones’ back home. Overnight in Kathmandu.

You must be quite tired after this long trek! Hence, you can take your time in Kathmandu to get rid of all the tiredness. This day is for contingency purpose as well. In case your flight gets cancelled or if you couldn’t make through your journey on time, an extra day to your trip always helps. If interested, you can opt for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu.
