Chitwan National Park is one of the most accessible national parks from the capital city – Kathmandu. It is a home to numerous species of birds and animals. One can spot Bengal tigers, rhinoceros, sloth bears, musk deer and many other animals inhabited in the park. It is a good place for bird watching. More than 543 species of birds have been recorded in the park till date.
Bardia National Park is one of the largest and undisturbed park in the Terai belt of Nepal. More than 70% of the park is covered with forests. 839 species of floras and 642 species of faunas has been noticed in the park. The park is a home to at least 53 mammals that includes rhinoceros, wild elephant, swamp deer, Bengal tiger, dolphin, etc. 407 species of birds have been recorded in this park.
Lying on the Nepal’s eastern plain, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is an excellent spot for bird watching. Over 400 species of birds have been noticed here. Bird lovers set up tents in the reserve to get some stunning views of birds like storks, geese, ducks, terns, eagles, kingfishers, Lapwings, etc.
