Nepal Bhutan Trek is a lovely trip that starts with your arrival in Nepal. Nepal is a beautiful country that holds the pride of having the world’s highest mountain – Everest and is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Your arrival in Nepal is followed by a short and scenic flight to Pokhara city. Pokhara city is a picturesque city that offers some mind blowing views of mountains in the Annapurna region. To make the most of the trip, we hike up to Ghorepani and Poonhill. Ghorepani is a beautiful Gurung village that lies in the backdrop of the great Annapurna massif. One can enjoy the close up views of mountains with a sip of tea/ coffee from the windows or terraces of guesthouses in the village. 

For more interesting mountain views, we hike up to Poonhill which is the best viewpoint for sunrise/ sunset views. Leaving Nepal, we fly to Paro in Bhutan, the land of Thunder Dragon. It’s an amazing experience up in the air full of mountain views. No matter wherever you have traveled around the world, traveling to Bhutan is a different experience. It is a beguiling place that has so much to offer. In Bhutan, we start with a sightseeing tour around Paro city. We visit some ancient dzongs and heritage sites around the city and hike up to Tiger’s Nest monastery perched in a dramatic location on a hill-top. We climb up a path full of stairs to the monastery. After visiting the monastery, we get set for our trekking journey. We follow an ancient road that connects Paro and Thimphu. We walk past a beautiful trail full of pastures, yak herders and summer settlements accompanied by majestic views of Mt. Gangkhar Puensem and Mt. Jomolhari. The trek takes us through some delightful forests of rhododendron and blue pine to some unspoiled sections of Bhutan full of mountain views, rivers, lakes, mountain passes and many more. Day to day itinerary

Meet our airport representative at the arrival terminal of Kathmandu airport. As soon as you get out of the arrival terminal, you will see a person with your nameplate and our company’s name waiting for you. After a brief welcome greeting, the representative will transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and rest for a while. Your guide will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the plans and programs ahead. if you have any queries, you can ask it to your guide. Finally, the guide will leave you at the hotel after a short introductory session on the plans for the coming days of the trip. There are no scheduled plans/programs for the day. You can enjoy your time at the hotel on your own. In the evening, we have a surprise dinner for you at the authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Today, we leave Kathmandu city and head towards Pokhara city. In the early morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the domestic terminal of Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. We board in to a flight that will bring us to Pokhara in just 25 minutes’ time. Upon arrival, we catch a private vehicle that will drive us to Hile. We drive along a scenic route full of spectacular views of verdant landscapes and villages to Hile. From Hile, we initiate our real trekking adventure. We start walking up gradually along a lush route. We enter Annapurna Conservation Area and follow a route that will lead us to Ghorepani. We climb up a stone paved steps to Tikhedhunga and further ascend up to Uller. On the way, we pass various Gurung and Magar villages. Overnight in Ulleri. 

It’s an interesting day walk to Ghorepani. Leaving Ulleri, we ascend up along an easy forested path full of rhododendron forests. If you have booked your trek for spring, then you might be the lucky one to see the whole forest blossom with colorful rhododendron flowers. The whole environment looks vivid and enchanting. Traversing through the forest, we open up to a beautiful Gurung village known as Ghorepani. The village offers some spectacular views of mountains in Annapurna massif. It’s truly a magical experience to spend your time in this charming village. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Wake up early and get ready for a hike to Poonhill. Did you know? Poonhill is one of the popular viewpoints in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It offers some spectacular views of mountains in Annapurna panorama such as Mt. Macchapucchre, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Gangapurna, etc. Also, the sunrise/ sunset views from this point is phenomenon. We hike up early enough to catch the views of sunrise amidst the snow clad mountains in Annapurna range. Later, we return back to Ghorepani and follow a forested trail full of rhododendron forests to Tadapani. Overnight at Tadapani.

Today, we leave Tadapani and walk for around three hours along a lush route to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village in the region. One can find large number of British Gurkha soldiers in this village. The people in the village are cheerful and warm hearted. One can enjoy great hospitality from locals in here. Leaving the village of Ghandruk, we descend down to Kimchi. We can enjoy some magnificent views of Annapurna Himal as we descend down to Kimchi. From Kimchi we take a vehicle that will drop us at a hotel in Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Get set for leaving Pokhara city and flying back to the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the Pokhara airport. Board into the plane and 25 minutes of scenic flight with views of mountains will bring you back to Kathmandu. After arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After resting your luggage at the hotel, we set out for a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu next. You will be guided to various heritage sites in Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa. Overnight in Kathmandu

Today, we leave the land of Nepal and fly towards Paro in Bhutan. The flight is an incredible experience full of mountain views. You can catch some awesome sights of high mountain peaks like Everest and Kanchenjunga as you fly over towards Paro. On reaching Paro, our Bhutanese crew will receive you at the airport and drive you to a hotel in Paro. After a short refreshment at the hotel, you will be escorted for a sightseeing tour. We visit Ta Dzong which is a watchtower that dates back to 17th century. Later, we drive to Rinpung Dzong. Also popular as Paro Dzong, it was built by Zabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the founder of Bhutan. Finally, after exploring the architectural magnificence of these sites, you will be dropped at your hotel for the evening. Overnight in Paro.

After breakfast at the hotel, we get ready for an awesome day hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Also, known as Taktsang monastery, it’s a beautiful monastery that clings onto a cliff. Its dramatic location has awed the heart of many. Built in 1684, it is one of the sacred places in Bhutan. It is said that Guru Rinpoche flew to Bhutan at this place on a tigress back and meditated on a cave. The monastery lies on the same place where he had meditated. The trail to monastery is bestowed with colorful prayer flags and pine trees. From the top, one can relish some amazing views of mountains and Paro valley. Today, we hike to the monastery and explore the entire area. As we get back, we visit Kichu Lakhang. It is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan built by Songsten Gampo. After visiting these sites, you will be dropped at your hotel in Paro. Overnight in Paro. 

After accomplishing our sightseeing in Paro, we set off for accomplishing Druk Path Trek. Early in the morning, after breakfast, we drive to Ta Dzong and start our trekking adventure. We climb uphill and walk past lush forests, traditional farmlands and apple orchards to Jele Dzong. It is an old fortress that dates back to 16th century. The trek is truly an amazing walk with no signs of teahouses, shops, manmade infrastructures, etc. on the way. During the trek, you will be sleeping under the tented camps enjoying the wilderness of the trip. Overnight in Jele Dzong.

After a delicious breakfast made by one of our crew member in the camp, we set out for the journey ahead. We ascend up steep along a ridge with clear and close views of Mt. Jhomolhari. It is the third highest peak in the Himalayan country of Bhutan. Also, known as the bride of Kanchenjunga, the mountain is regarded as the goddess. Therefore, peak climbing is strictly prohibited in Bhutan as they consider mountains as the place where god resides. Enjoying the beguiling views of mountains and hills, we make our way amidst the wilderness of nature to Jangchulakha. Here, we set our camps on the grassland with few yak herders grazing their yaks. Overnight in Jangchulakha.

Leaving Jangchulakha, we climb up steep through a path full of juniper trees onto a grassy meadow. We walk along a flat and leveled path for a while and then follow a trail that undulated up and down until we reach Jangchu La, a mountain pass at an elevation of 4180 meters. We climb up rejoicing some delighting views of Jimilangtsho. It is a sacred mountain lake that lies at an amazing location within the wilderness of mother nature. In the lake, you can see some giant trout fishes. If you have permit, you can also enjoy fishing in the lake. Overnight at Jimilangtso. 

After breakfast in the camp, we walk towards the southern end of the lake and climb uphill towards another mountain lake popular as Simkotra Tsho. Enjoying the alpine scenery along the trail, we walk past some sacred sites of Bhutan. As we climb higher, the trail widens and opens up to Simkotra Tsho. From the lake, one can bless their eyes with some scenic views of rhododendron shrubs. In spring, the place turns vivid with colorful flower blossom. Today, we set up our camp on a yak grazing site near the lake. Overnight in Simkotra Tsho.

Leaving the lake, we climb up a rocky trail until we open up to a leveled path. Further, we ascend up to Phume La at an elevation of 4210 meters. It is the highest point of our entire trek that offers some captivating views of Mt. Gangkhar Pnensem. It is the highest peak of Bhutan and the highest unscaled peak in the world. From this point, our trail descends down along a ridge bestowed with colorful prayer flags and pine trees to Phajoding monastery. It is an ancient monastery that dates back to 13th century. From the monastery, we catch a vehicle that will drive us back to Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu

Finally, we end our journey! Today, you need to catch your international flight. Hence, you will be driven back to Paro airport three hours before your scheduled flight. Hope your trip with us was a memorable one!
