Annapurna Sanctuary Trek takes you to a haven of mountains to heal your eyes and soul with the splendor of the great Annapurna massif. It starts from the foothills of Annapurna and traverses through a diverse terrain to the Annapurna Base Camp in just a short span of time. The lush hills, valleys, alpine forests, villages, farmlands and geographical diversity along the trail is a boon that blesses every trekker who wishes to be hypnotized by the appealing beauty of nature and mountains. Annapurna Base Camp, also popular as Annapurna Sanctuary is an incredible setting amidst the mountains like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Mt. Macchapucchre, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Dhaulagiri, etc. that gives the place a picturesque outlook. It’s an overwhelming experience where your eyes are left wandering at the alluring appeal of peaks that rises tall one after the other.
Annapurna Sanctuary Trek initiates with a short and scenic flight to the foothills of Annapurna i.e. Pokhara. From here, we take a short drive to Hile and start walking towards the village of Ulleri. Leaving Ulleri, the trail runs through a lush landscape to the village of Ghorepani. It’s a picturesque Gurung village that lies in the backdrop of beautiful Himalayas. Poonhill, a popular viewpoint is near the village. We hike up to the viewpoint to applaud the glory of sunrise and mountains. Further, we head towards Chomorong via Tadapani. We pass villages like Bamboo and Deurali on the way to Macchapucchre Base Camp and finally arrive at Annapurna Base Camp. We pass various ethnic settlements, villages, farmlands, forests and lush landscapes on our way to the Annapurna Sanctuary. The walk to the base camp is a perfect exhibition of rich nature and culture. So, are you ready to immerse yourself into this natural and cultural richness?
To make the best of your journey to the Annapurna Sanctuary, you can book your travel dates at any time between March to May and September to November. Opt for the spring season if you are looking for a vibrant journey full of colorful rhododendron forests. Monsoon and core winter is not so recommended for Annapurna Sanctuary Trek.

Meet our airport representative at the arrival terminal of Kathmandu airport. As soon as you get out of the arrival terminal, you will see a person with your nameplate and our company’s name waiting for you. After a brief welcome greeting, the representative will transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and rest for a while. Your guide will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the plans and programs ahead. if you have any queries, you can ask it to your guide. Finally, the guide will leave you at the hotel after a short introductory session on the plans for the coming days of the trip. There are no scheduled plans/programs for the day. You can enjoy your time at the hotel on your own. In the evening, we have a surprise dinner for you at the authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Today, we leave Kathmandu city and head towards Pokhara city. In the early morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the domestic terminal of Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. We board in to a flight that will bring us to Pokhara in just 25 minutes’ time. Upon arrival, we catch a private vehicle that will drive us to Hile. We drive along a scenic route full of spectacular views of verdant landscapes and villages to Hile. From Hile, we initiate our real trekking adventure. We start walking up gradually along a lush route. We enter Annapurna Conservation Area and follow a route that will lead us to Ghorepani. We climb up a stone paved steps to Tikhedhunga and further ascend up to Uller. On the way, we pass various Gurung and Magar villages. Overnight in Ulleri.
It’s an interesting day walk to Ghorepani. Leaving Ulleri, we ascend up along an easy forested path full of rhododendron forests. If you have booked your trek for spring, then you might be the lucky one to see the whole forest blossom with colorful rhododendron flowers. The whole environment looks vivid and enchanting. Traversing through the forest, we open up to a beautiful Gurung village known as Ghorepani. The village offers some spectacular views of mountains in Annapurna massif. It’s truly a magical experience to spend your time in this charming village. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Wake up early and get ready for a hike to Poonhill. Did you know? Poonhill is one of the popular viewpoints in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It offers some spectacular views of mountains in Annapurna panorama such as Mt. Macchapucchre, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Gangapurna, etc. Also, the sunrise/ sunset views from this point is phenomenon. We hike up early enough to catch the views of sunrise amidst the snow clad mountains in Annapurna range. Later, we return back to Ghorepani and follow a forested trail full of rhododendron forests to Tadapani. Overnight at Tadapani.
Leaving Tadapani, we head towards another large Gurung village of the region i.e. Chomorong. We follow a trail full of rhododendron forests and descend down enjoying some classic views of scenic landscape around. We descend down to the Kimrong Khola and climb up towards Modi Khola valley. our final ascent up and we reach the village of Chomorong. Chomorong offers some magnificent views of mountains like Annapurna South and Mt. Macchapucchre. We can enjoy our time in Chomorong relishing the glories of mountains and outstanding landscapes. From Chomorong, the trail undulates up and down through steep ascents and descents towards Bamboo. At first, the trail drops down to Chomorong Khola and then ascends up to Kimrung Danda. Further, we hike up along a forested area full of rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests to Khuldighar. Further, we descent down along an easy route to Bamboo. Bamboo comprises of few teahouses and lodges that caters the food and accommodation need of the trekkers heading towards the Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight in Bamboo.
Moving ahead with the trek, we continue with our journey towards Deurali. We hike through the damp forested area full of bamboo trees. The trail ascends up through a cold and damp section until we reach Himalaya Hotel. As we move forward from the hotel, we can feel the sun again. The warmth of the sunlight lightens you up and the enchanting views of glacial river down the valley makes your walk even more exciting. Further, we ascent up steep to the Hinku cave and descend down enjoying some fascinating views of Annapurna. We follow the trail until we reach a small settlement area popular as Deurali. Overnight in Deurali.
Leaving Deurali, we make a short descend down to the river valley and climb up steep over the mountain side. To reach Annapurna Base Camp, we have to pass through Macchapucchre Base Camp and the path from Bagar to Macchapucchre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. Energizing ourselves with the magnificent views of surrounding, we make our way to Macchapucchre Base Camp. From here, we can enjoy some appealing views of mountains such as Mt. Macchapucchre, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Annapurna II, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and many more. Leaving Macchapucchre Base Camp, we head towards Annapurna Base Camp. As we approach near to ABC, we can notice the change in vegetation that starts to disappear as we march forward. Finally, we arrive Annapurna Base Camp. Upon arrival, we can enjoy some magnificent views of mountains in Annapurna panorama. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.
In the early morning, we catch the views of sunrise over the mountains. It’s truly a scenic and peaceful moment. After that we relish some fascinating views of mountains in Annapurna Sanctuary. Few wonderful moments at the sanctuary amidst the mountains, we capture the moments in photographs and get set for our way back towards Pokhara. Today, we make a long descent down via same path to Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.
Leaving Bamboo, we climb up to Khildighar. From Khuldighar, we walk downhill along a scenic route to Chomorong Khola. We climb up from the river bed along a stone paved staircase to Chomorong. Finally, we descend down to Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu Danda, there is a natural hot water spring. Upon arrival, you can rest for a while and walk downhill towards the hot water springs. Enjoy the hot water bath and soothe your body from all the pains and aches. The hot water bath acts as an ailment for all the pains in your body. Overnight in Jhinu Danda
We are almost at the end of our trekking journey. Today, we descend downhill along a lush route full of traditional villages, farmlands and forests to Siwai. At Siwai, we catch a vehicle that will drive us back to Pokhara city. Check in to the hotel in Pokhara and freshen up for a while. In the late afternoon, we can walk for a while towards the lakeside. The evening fresh sir, serene lakes, paragliders flying over the sky and buzzling restaurants, lakeside has an energetic aura. One can enjoy the liveliness of Pokhara city tonight. Overnight in Pokhara.
Get set for leaving Pokhara city and flying back to the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the Pokhara airport. Board into the plane and 25 minutes of scenic flight with views of mountains will bring you back to Kathmandu. After arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy your time at hotel or stroll around the streets of Thamel for some shopping! Overnight in Kathmandu
