The route defined for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

From the foothills of the Annapurna massif, we follow a jovial route that passes various ethnic villages, lush hills, forests and farmlands on the way to Annapurna Base Camp. The trail moves uphill, downhill and somewhat flat in some portions of the trail. It starts with a scenic flight over the Nepalese territory to Pokhara with some spectacular views of snow clad mountain peaks all along. From Pokhara, we drive to Kimchi and initiate our trekking along the lush Gurung villages. We pass villages like Ghnadruk, Chomorong, Bamboo and Deurali on the way to Annapurna Base Camp. On the way, we pass the Macchapucchre Base Camp. Further, we descend down to Jhinu Danda via Bamboo and enjoy a rejuvenating hot water bath in the natural hot water springs in here. Annapurna Base Camp Trek ends with a short drive back to Pokhara and a flight back to Kathmandu.

Day to day itinerary

Meet our airport representative at the arrival terminal of Kathmandu airport. As soon as you get out of the arrival terminal, you will see a person with your nameplate and our company’s name waiting for you. After a brief welcome greeting, the representative will transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and rest for a while. Your guide will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the plans and programs ahead. if you have any queries, you can ask it to your guide. Finally, the guide will leave you at the hotel after a short introductory session on the plans for the coming days of the trip. There are no scheduled plans/programs for the day. You can enjoy your time at the hotel on your own. In the evening, we have a surprise dinner for you at the authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Today, we leave Kathmandu city and head towards Pokhara city. In the early morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the domestic terminal of Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. We board in to a flight that will bring us to Pokhara in just 25 minutes’ time. Upon arrival, we catch a vehicle that will drive us to Kimchi. Kimchi is a small settlement area that is just 2 hours’ drive from the Pokhara airport. We enjoy some scenic views along the way as we drive towards Kimchi. Once we reach Kimchi, we initiate our trekking journey towards Ghandruk. We ascend up along the stone paved stairs to the Gurung settlement of Ghandruk. We get ready for the walk today. Enjoying the classic views of Himalayas, we walk pass the terraced farmlands and villages to make our way to Chomorong. Initially, the trail drops down to Kimrong Khola. From the river, we cross a bridge and ascend up along the stone paved staircases to Chomorong. Chomorong is another Gurung village in the region that offers some astounding views of mountains like Annapurna South and Mt. Macchapucchre. Overnight in Chomorong

From Chomorong, the trail undulates up and down through steep ascents and descents towards Bamboo. At first, the trail drops down to Chomorong Khola and then ascends up to Kimrung Danda. Further, we hike up along a forested area full of rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests to Khuldighar. Further, we descent down along an easy route to Bamboo. Bamboo comprises of few teahouses and lodges that caters the food and accommodation need of the trekkers heading towards the Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight in Bamboo.

Moving ahead with the trek, we continue with our journey towards Deurali. We hike through the damp forested area full of bamboo trees. The trail ascends up through a cold and damp section until we reach Himalaya Hotel. As we move forward from the hotel, we can feel the sun again. The warmth of the sunlight lightens you up and the enchanting views of glacial river down the valley makes your walk even more exciting. Further, we ascent up steep to the Hinku cave and descend down enjoying some fascinating views of Annapurna. We follow the trail until we reach a small settlement area popular as Deurali. Overnight in Deurali.

Leaving Deurali, we make a short descend down to the river valley and climb up steep over the mountain side. To reach Annapurna Base Camp, we have to pass through Macchapucchre Base Camp and the path from Bagar to Macchapucchre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. Energizing ourselves with the magnificent views of surrounding, we make our way to Macchapucchre Base Camp. From here, we can enjoy some appealing views of mountains such as Mt. Macchapucchre, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Annapurna II, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and many more. Leaving Macchapucchre Base Camp, we head towards Annapurna Base Camp. As we approach near to ABC, we can notice the change in vegetation that starts to disappear as we march forward. Finally, we arrive Annapurna Base Camp. Upon arrival, we can enjoy some magnificent views of mountains in Annapurna panorama. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.

In the early morning, we catch the views of sunrise over the mountains. It’s truly a scenic and peaceful moment. After that we relish some fascinating views of mountains in Annapurna Sanctuary. Few wonderful moments at the sanctuary amidst the mountains, we capture the moments in photographs and get set for our way back towards Pokhara. Today, we make a long descent down via same path to Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.

Leaving Bamboo, we climb up to Khildighar. From Khuldighar, we walk downhill along a scenic route to Chomorong Khola. We climb up from the river bed along a stone paved staircase to Chomorong. Finally, we descend down to Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu Danda, there is a natural hot water spring. Upon arrival, you can rest for a while and walk downhill towards the hot water springs. Enjoy the hot water bath and soothe your body from all the pains and aches. The hot water bath acts as an ailment for all the pains in your body. Overnight in Jhinu Danda

We are almost at the end of our trekking journey. Today, we descend downhill along a lush route full of traditional villages, farmlands and forests to Siwai. At Siwai, we catch a vehicle that will drive us back to Pokhara city. Check in to the hotel in Pokhara and freshen up for a while. In the late afternoon, we can walk for a while towards the lakeside. The evening fresh sir, serene lakes, paragliders flying over the sky and buzzling restaurants, lakeside has an energetic aura. One can enjoy the liveliness of Pokhara city tonight. Overnight in Pokhara.

Get set for leaving Pokhara city and flying back to the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the Pokhara airport. Board into the plane and 25 minutes of scenic flight with views of mountains will bring you back to Kathmandu. After arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy your time at hotel or stroll around the streets of Thamel for some shopping! Overnight in Kathmandu
