Along the rugged forested path full of blue pine, cedar and spruce lie some traditional villages inhabited by people of Brahmin, Chetri and Thakuri community.

With Dolpa in the east ad Humla to the west, Mugu is a rain shadow area with dry and arid landscape. The area is less frequented, sparsely populated and resided by people of Tibetan origin.
